Welcome our guest today, Evaline Dorce, returned Peace Corp volunteer and nurse from New York.  Today’s episode, “How one nurse turned tragedy into her purpose and passion.”

About Yvaline Dorce
My name is Yvaline Dorce, I am a mom, a wife, a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV), a nurse. I am a first-generation college student. I was born and raised in the beautiful “La Perle des Antilles”, AKA Haiti. I moved to the United Stated at the age of sixteen. I always had a passion for helping others. On Tuesday January 12th 2010, when a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devasted Haiti, all I wanted was to get on a plane and help. However, I could not. It was heartbreaking watching the news and there was nothing I could do to help. Ever since, I had no doubt that I was called to serve!

I have worked in different areas of nursing from outpatient dialysis to critical care. From Hepatitis C research at Columbia University to traveling to the Democratic Republic of the Congo working on medicinal plant treatment for diabetes, I have gained a wealth of knowledge in healthcare. Helping and educating others on different health topics has always been my passion. 

Currently I am a CTICU nurse and embarking in my entrepreneurship journey. In addition to nursing, I love to travel, try different food, read. I inspire to help aspiring nurses and nurses get out of their comfort zone and achieve their full potential.
