Welcome our guest today, Alexandria Jones-Patten, founder of Authored by AJP, located in San Pedro, California.  Today’s episode, “How one nurse with a passion for public health nursing turned into an entrepreneur.”

About Alexandria Jones-Patten

In 2017 Alexandria became a Registered Nurse, dedicating three years to hospital floor duties on a busy telemetry unit. Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020 she decided to pivot to a public health role because she knew she wanted to explore her talents beyond the bedside. She spent the next two years providing care to homeless adults in shelters and temporary housing. Still, Alexandria had a passion for business that wasn't met in the public health sector. During this time she was working on her Nursing PhD and began exploring entrepreneurship. This was when she realized she could put her writing talents to use beyond academic writing. In 2022 she decided to launch a freelance writing business, 'Authored by AJP."  Her primary goal is to educate the public and inspire others about heart health, using her unique blend of experiences and knowledge. She also helps other nurses start their freelance writing business.
